Good to see Marcus Harris hit 185 as Leicestershire chased down 378 v Middlesex.
His second century & is the only Australian making runs with Labuschagne (Glamorgan), Bancroft (Durham), Head (Sussex) & Handscomb (Middlesex) all having very lean starts to the County season.

Test summer starts tomorrow if anyone is up for posting a thread ....
England v NZ (2 Tests)
India v NZ (World Test championship final)
England v India (5 Tests)

25 wickets in a day and a half, and the four that were caught were all caught behind. A bit silly.

I wonder when was the last time we bowled a side out and Harmer (or any spinners) did not even get a single over.

Re: The County Cricket 2021 Thread
Cricket in May especially with the weather this year is a bit pointless.
June and the start of the TEST summer next week featuring the top 3 sides according to the ICC rankings seems to have brought cricket weather.

Not hearing much about THE HUNDRED at the moment especially now Australia have sorted out a July white ball tour of the West Indies. No Indians, Australian or West Indians .... hmmm.
Still think they might find an excuse to 'postpone' it again before cancelling it for good.

Seems like a lively wicket at Durham.16 wickets fell, only one not bowled or lbw. 11 lbw's.

#19 PEPPER batsman/keeper, yesterday was his fourth first team game in county championship, debut was 2018 but didn't feature last year, he's decent with the willow but from what I've seen never going to be a first choice keeper.

He's played nine T20 games as well, averages about 20 in that format

Excellent fightback with the ball yesterday.

He’s had some good partnerships with Phil Salt from Sussex before.

Just pulled this thread up in readiness to report a ton for Michael Pepper and lo and behold he is out for 92. I take full responsibility.

Still a good knock though, and I had never heard of him before today I must say, not being a close follower of the game and Essex CC, LMH has he played before?

Stevens is a great servant for that minor county outfit.
Incredible knock today from him, I was more of impressed with proper no.11 on loan QUINNY hitting a six..

Shocking LBW decision by the ump to give Lasagne out.

Still he took it with all the grace you'd expect from a mate.

Entertaining

Amazing innings from Darren Stevens at Canterbury.

190 off 145 balls including 15 6's.

Partnership of 166 for the 9th wicket with Cummins, who contributed 1 run.

Kent were 80/5 when he came in - 294/9 when he was dismissed.

fear he will team up with his party buddy Stokes on another gay bar bender and brawl.

If there's a team curfew, I fail to see what the sexual orientation of a bar's clientele, has to do with anything.

Re: The County Cricket 2021 Thread
Hales was banned for 21 days and as you say hasn't been selected.

That has been driven by Eoin Morgan who wont accept him in the team because he doesnt 'trust him'.
Trust to me implies continued drug use or a fear he will team up with his party buddy Stokes on another gay bar bender and brawl.

Re: The County Cricket 2021 Thread
I never said they should have lifetime bans, I said they shouldn’t be playing through selection policy. Westside seems to be on my wavelength.

As for new aussie’ policy and procedures, it’s none of my business. But since you have asked I think they are probably unnecessary and superficial as the previous ones where robust enough.

But to have left them unchanged would have been a tacit admission that they were deliberately being ignored I the first place. Which wouldn’t be a wildly rash assumption.

As for the team, again none of my business, but you have asked. They appear to be the hard competitive Australians one would expect, without the thuggery and unnecessary intimidation and nastiness. You don’t expect aussie cricketers to be nice on the field, after all Dennis Lillie wouldn’t be Dennis Lillie if he bowled medium pace half volleys or Rod Marsh applauded in an incoming batsman. They played hard because cricket is hard, but they were “proper” off the field.

Westside 10:57 Fri May 21
Re: The County Cricket 2021 Thread
The difference ... the 'Australian attitude' as you put it was to suspend two players for 12 months and the other for 9.
That has never occurred with any other country.

England banned Hales for taking a bit of charlie and have still not selected him, after he served his ban.
